My Setup For Traveling

It Works for Me, and That’s All That Matters….To Me.

My Backpack

Peak Design Everyday Pack V2 ($280 at REI). I realize that’s a lot of money to spend on a backpack, but how about a backpack that’s made specifically for computers?

The Everyday V2 fits the bill. Not only does it fit my iPad (with the keyboard), but I can also fit my iPhone, mouse (Yes, I’m that old-fashioned) and my iPad Mini in there.

A separate case holds all my chargers, cables, etc. It sits on the bottom of the pack and is easily accessible from either zippered side.

It also has room for my Canon SLR should I decide to bring it along, and straps on the bottom of the pack will hold a tripod or selfie stick. Or, in my case, a hiking/walking stick or two.

The iPad is my workhorse

Besides being useful for watching Netflix, Facebook, and other mindless drivel, it’s where I do most of my writing. True, I’m typing the current entry on my iPhone, but when the time comes for a final edit, adding images, links, etc., I’ll dig out the iPad and do it all there.

The iPhone is my go-to source for quick notes, ideas I wake to in the middle of the night and reach for my digital notepad: my iPhone and Apple Notes. I find this is the best combination for me for capturing thoughts on the fly: in the middle of the night or during the day. Although I’m experimenting with Quick Notes. Just a quick note and then I’m right back to sleep.

And There You Have It

My one-woman traveling circus and medicine show. Hey! It works for me, and that’s all that matters.
